Ask before you sign
The most expensive CDL mistakes happen alone: signing a training contract nobody warned you about, picking a school nobody checked, taking a first job nobody would have recommended. The community exists so you don't decide alone.
What happens in there
| Channel | What it's for |
|---|---|
| #before-you-pay | Post a school's quote, contract, or job guarantee before you sign. Get a second set of eyes from people who've been through it. |
| #permit-and-testing | Study questions, test-day reports by state, and what the examiners actually grade hard. |
| #first-year | The part nobody prepares you for: trainers, dispatch, home time, and when a problem is worth quitting over. |
| #jobs-and-contracts | Real talk on carriers, training programs, and what the fine print did to someone's paycheck. |
The Discord is opening soon. Drop your email below and you'll get the invite the day it opens, along with the starter checklist.
The one rule that matters
Nobody in the community pays us, and nobody gets to sell to you. The same standard as the site: official sources beat claims, written terms beat promises, and the bad-case math gets run before anyone signs.
FAQ
Is the CDL Pathway community free?
Yes. It's a free Discord server for people getting a CDL and drivers in their first year. No paid tiers, no school sales pitches.
Can recruiters or schools join?
They can read, but pitching members, DMing students, or posting unlabeled promotions gets removed. The community exists so you can compare notes without being sold to.
Why Discord instead of a forum?
Discord is free, works on every phone, and is where a lot of younger drivers already are. If the community outgrows it, a public forum is the natural next step.
